I love reading magazines, and over the past years I've bought many, many magazines. The only thing is, after I read them, instead of throwing them away, I've always kept them so that if I want to re-read pages (usually the makeup and beauty ones) or flick through them again, I can. However, recently it's become a bit of a problem, the magazines have really piled up and started to take over the spare room, so I decided it was about time I had a good sort through them. .
I flicked through every magazine and tore out any articles or pictures I liked, and then I organised the pages into a folder. Now it's all nicely organised and doesn't take up any room at all. It was actually really satisfying sorting through them, getting rid of all the old magazines, and now the spare room's a lot clearer. .
Here's the finished result :)
And here's just a few of the magazines I sorted through, ready for for the recycling ;)
Today I'm going to share with you my top five 'drugstore' makeup products. These are all products that I either have repurchased or would repurchase in the future, and ones that I do actually use on a regular basis. In general I would have to say I prefer higher end makeup to drugstore makeup, however I do think there are a few 'drugstore' items that are real gems, and I love each of these products.
REVLON Colourstay foundation .
This is definitley the best drugstore foundation I've ever tried. It's a great full coverage foundation, gives a perfect finish and it really lasts all day on my skin. The only negative is that it doesn't have a pump which does make it really difficult to get the right ammount of product!
Bourjois Delice de Poudre bronzer .
This is a great bronzer, a nice brown shade with just a touch of gold shimmer. It's perfect for enhancing your tan because it gives you a healthy glow and makes you look tanned, not at all orange or muddy looking. I love the packaging too!
Bourjois Rose D'Or blush
I love this! It's such a lovely, shimmery blush, if you like the MAC MSFs and Mineralize blushes, I'd really recommend taking a look at this. It's a pretty rosey pink blush with gold shimmer. You only need a little, to give your cheeks a pretty glow. It's very smooth in consistency and looks absolutely gorgeous on!
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara
Absolutely brilliant! With two coats, this mascara really lengthens and volumises my eyelashes. It's the best mascara I've used to date! I'm on my second or third tube of this and I will definitley buy this mascara over and over and over again.
L'Oreal Glam Shine lipgloss - Coral Strass
This has remained one of my favourite lipglosses for the past few years. It's a pretty pale pinky peach colour, despite the name 'Coral Strass', and has pink and gold shimmer. It's not at all sticky and the shimmer makes your lips look fuller. I usually wear it over a nude or pink lipstick. I love it so much, I've got two more as backups for when mine runs out!
Today, my package from The Body Shop came so I thought I'd share with you what I purchased. I love The Body Shop, I think they have really good quality products and they're not too expensive. Personally, I'm a big fan of the body butters and the lip balms. I didn't actually order anything for myself from the sale, instead I ordered some of the gift sets to put away for presents.

I'd really recommend having a look at The Body Shop sale as they have a lot of really lovely gift sets reduced. If you know anyone who you think would like to receive one as a present, it's a really good idea to buy it now and put it away for them, as it can help you to save a bit of money and still get someone a really nice gift. Or you could treat yourself, and buy one as a gift for you!
For Christmas I got a Clippy 'Cover Girl' makeup bag. It's basically a clear makeup bag which is designed so that you can tear off a magazine cover and slide it into the makeup bag.
The magazine cover is secured into place by a plastic insert which goes on top of it and the bag fastens with magnets and has a zip. The bag's made out of plastic so it's wipe clean, which I love as I always find my makeup bags get dirty really easily and I hate it when they start to look grubby. There's also a lot of room in the bag which is good for me as I like to carry around a lot of makeup!
I used a magazine cover from TATLER, which has Olivia Palermo on the front. I love the idea of the makeup bag as you can change the cover whenever you want, giving it a totally different look. I think they'd make great presents too, and I'm planning on buying some for my friend's birthdays this year.
First of all, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! I love Christmas, and I had such an amazing time, just spending time with my family, friends and boyfriend. And of course, I did some sales shopping! I usually go shopping on Boxing Day with my mum, but this year we decided we couldn't be bothered with all the hastle so we did all our sales shopping online, and we got some great bargains. I seriously love online shopping it's so much easier to see everything and so simple, without all the queuing and the hustle and bustle.
